A convicted sex offender living in Beaufort County says he just wants to get on with his life.

Ernest Rambo, 41 years-old, talked with Dave Jordan about how he ended up on North Carolina's Sex Offender Registry and what people think about his conviction of statutory rape.

The sex registry is a joke. Only a small percent of registered offenders are deemed dangerous by the judicial system. A huge bulk of them are consensual,statutory cases , even 19 year olds with 16 year olds. Its all overblown,media hysteria. The cops need to start monitoring the real pedophiles and quit harrasing people who simply broke a law. Was Elvis a sex offender for marrying Priscilla at 14? Was he a public threat? I think not!! Grow up America,Europe is way more progressive

The sex offender registry is a joke. There are thousands of consensual statutory cases,teens dating,public nudity on there. The legislators have ruined this service,and the media stood by and let it happen . Only 6 percent of registered offenders are considered dangerous. The registry is useless!!! Elvis married Priscilla at 14,try putting The King on there.

why and how is a residence restriction effective is the offender is allowed to leave home? itd be one thing if they werent allowed to leave home, but they do go to the store, ect. ect. Sex crimes arent even as bad as others, as most sex crimes usually are committed with not hurting the victim , but full filling their needs, yet most non sexuall assaults ,are committed with the thought of hurting another solely.

The kid that Rambo and his cousin RAPED was walking through a park. Watch your kids ? THE GUY IS A PREDATOR . What this man did made him less than human, like a dog that needs to be put down. The story can be found in the Delaware County Daily Times. What he did to that child was horrible . A parent only had to turn their back for a second and a man like this was going to get the kid.

He didn't get a prostitute- that is a MYTH , that is not included in the law. You should read the law. Leeches like this would have you believe it, but the fact is if you rape anyone of any age or molest a child YOU MUST REGISTER . It has no statute for prostitutes or sex in your car.

Him and another man beat and raped an 11 year old boy nearly to death, left him in a field for dead and the boy crawled a 1/4 mile NAKED to the nearest home pleading for mercy and his life. This man is EVIL. He should have received the death penalty, like all molesters , but conservatives and Catholics want to protect their leaders.

What this guy did WAS NOT THAT. He left that boy for dead in a field, behind a cemetary. Him and another 20 year old beat and raped an 11 year old boy. See the Article in The Delaware County Daily Times archives . The CHILD crawled a 1/4 mile , naked to someones porch hours later. THEY DID HORRIBLE THINGS TO THAT LITTLE BOY.

Rambo should have gotten the death penalty, but because the child was the product of an interethnic marriage he got a small amount of time.
