Yes you are correct I am only talking about standard involute gears here so the other calculation will not apply. Thanks for the comment I hope that the videos help in some way for you.

Can you share the trick for centering in a four jaw [independent] chuck, that is if you haven't already?

YoU have got to be the only person that I have ever seen take a chuck off a lathe in order to preserve accuracy.

With the sherline equipment this is a very accurate way to move the part from the lathe to the mill. It seems that sherline has done a very good job in making there equipment and chucks.
