I am from Ohio and live in France now. Clog dancing is typical of many Celtic cultures and can still be enjoyed in Brittany, France. I collect and resell wooden shoes -- there are only two makers of them left in France. They do last a lifetime, are easy to maintain, and are darn practical! (I sometimes find old dress pairs I resell!) A lot of square dancing terms, such as do see do, are French in origin. Breton is a separate language, of course -- a Celtic one.
How good it is it to see every one getting involved with this sort of thing. I do hope that you have carried on with the 'celebrations'.. ten out of ten!!! to every one!
If this does not make you proud to be American then it should! look at the kids wanting to dance.I`m a Scotsman who recently saw cloggers for the first time and I am now hooked> thanks
I've always said -- there's a LOT of Irish in our folks of the mid south --I'm from texas and I am of Ulster- Scot heritage may our heritage live forever !!!

Why does this seem so much more enjoyable than "Completely Awesome Cloggers"?
