I know this wont be a popular comment, but that poor kid has been thru an AWFUL lot of disappointment in his short life ... it certainly doesn't defend his attack on the man, but i can undertand him feeling betrayed and lied to ... esp. since that's probably what's happened to him time after time after time. He had gotten his hopes up for something good and once again it was taken from him..and now he's permanently separated from his mother & siblings .. which is just gonna make it worse

Davey needs Juvey...thats where he fits in! And I did not see his mum clout him one on the head when it happenend...she hugged him! Like I said...a nice resounding clout on the head every once in a while would have brought him around. Anger issues...we all have issues but we don't all wield a scythe and cut others up. Psycho!

i believe in the book it does give references of the master having an attraction to Davey. I'm not too sure how into it it got...i havent read the book
