@eqspec76 In the word gnome, yes. However when referring to GNOME, the desktop environment, it is pronounced with a hard G because the first letter in the acronym stands for GNU which is pronounced with a hard G. I know it's very wierd....

@eqspec76, Gnome is a Desktop environment in Linux. The G is not silent. Don't ask me why, thats just the way it is.

@gotbletu I didn't think you were boring. You explained it well. I already used Gnome-do, and was wondering if there was any way to get some plugins other than the clock and trash...I'm thinking stacks and volume control and wifi...

Hello! I am using MInt 7. I would like to use the Mac like doc on my system, however when I try to follow your steps & I open preferences & click on display I get this message. Your display is not properly configured for theme and animation support. To use these features, you must enable compositing. Am I doing something wrong? Or leaving something out?

hi, i want to know how can i have the "mac top bar" in ubuntu. i mean, the bar that changes depending on the app you have open.. like when you are on the desktop it says:"Desktop File Edit View Places Help" and when you are on the winff it says "winff file edit options help"
