Can anyone name this jig? I learned it from a live recording so I don't know the name. I learned it from a live recording of a show Bela Fleck and Jerry Douglas did in 1998.
It's called 'The Girls of Banbridge'. It doesn't seem very common in Irish music sessions in my experience. I first heard it on a recording of De Dannan playing at the Cambridge folk fest, years ago.
Don't know. It might be on their 1999 CD Bluegrass Sessions: Tales From The Acoustic Planet Vol. 2 (Which I haven't heard in full- try as I might, can't get websites to play samples for some reason)
I don't know too many Irish jigs... if it was the Road to Lisdoonvarna I'd've gotten it but then I guess so would everyone else! LOL. Sounded nice though, post some more.

Thanks for your msg. I can't quite place this tune - there are elements of "Tobin's Jig" in it, I believe.
Cheers!
