Ron Garvin knocking out Dusty looked awesome. The Dusty finish for the main event should have been changed!

That makes me wanna watch The Bash '88 now!

Back in the day the GAB was not a 1 day event, like now. The GAB was supposed to be the best matches over a period of time during the summer, usually for like a month. There may have been one day where it was the PPV, but when the VHS tapes came out it was a compilation of the best signature matches of the Great American Bash time period, which again was not 1 single day. Hope that helps.

Actually the tape contains one non PPV match for the TV title between Sting and Mike Rotunda. So that's why they are calling it the best of Bash '88
-
Why is this called "the Best" of the GAB '88? Surely it's just the PPV show?

This was the first PPV I ordered when I was 16. I still have the tape too.
An *excellent* card, top to bottom, complete with a crazy Dusty finish at the end. Co-commentator Jim Ross was young and at the top of his game then.

damn right DTakersgurl, that event was awesome and the tag team match at the opening was so good, i'm still mad at the end of the event but Flair was a perfect heel back in the days !!

Wow, brings back so many memories. I bought this tape back then along with Bash 87 and a few Starrcades. I used to love watching the ads they had in the beginning. The first NWA ppv i ordered was starrcade 88. I still have them somewhere along with ppv's from WWF and WCW up until '93
Oh how I miss wrestling the way it used to be. This is way wrestling is supposed to be.
A few promos and hours of wrestling. Not 2 hours of promos and 2 minutes of wrestling.

Ah...the Ronnie Garvin heel turn against Dusty. Classic. Helped Barry retain the US strap. Then he goes to the WWF to be a mid-card nobody...
