I hope the switch went well. I have been studying universal design for human computer interactions including designing for the blind. I heard mixed things about the Mac audio/speech software. I was just wondering how the transition went?

all my letters are mixed up on my mac i dont know what the hells going on,i have to use another keyboard through usb it's not the numbers lock either if anyone can help that'll be great

i'm just about to switch from being a windows user of many years to a mac without ever having seen one. and i'm blind. so i have to learn a brand new operating system and a brand new bunch of commands for both the system and the speech software. EVERYTHING is going to be different, and the speech capability is going to be not as good as what i'm used to. so though i can sympathise with people hating change for change sake, part of me is thinking, you have to press a diffferent key ffs!

Yea, there's a setting in System Preferences to use the function keys as normal function keys.
