In 2006 I conceived a film about an innocent family being terrorized by their Homeowners Association. This is not related to another film by the same name, currently in production, that takes a more fantastical approach to it. For me, people screwing with other people is all you need for satire. What started as a dream-move into a beautiful neighborhood quickly spirals into a broken father who loses his family, his home, and almost his soul.
Special thanks to Michael Hitchcock for working with us, Thomas McCarty for shooting it, and the other cast and crew who so generously donated their time and talents to the project. Also to my in-laws who let us trash their house, and their oblivious HOA who luckily didn't call the police on us (that time).
The full feature script exists and occasionally sniffs out ways to get made, non of which has panned out. This was shot on the JVC-HD100 with mini35 adapter, edited and colored in Adobe CS2.
