CSX O702 Engine Start Up in Clearwater FL 7-14-08

A CSX crew arrives and prepares to take train O702 to Tampa. The two GP39-2's were parked on a short siding that used to be the SAL/SCL line to St. Petersburg.

@CSXandSpartanfan33 Yes they do. This is the CSX Clearwater Sub and it goes to St Pete using the ex-ACL main. However the track the engines were sitting on before start up is the old SAL main to St. Pete. It dead ends there just behind the engines.

Very cool, Ken... I'm a huge fan of CSX's fleet of GP39-2s too. A regular sight on locals O717 & O718 down here in SFL as well as elsewhere in Florida.

Great video Ken, i have not caught this train so far in 2011 this train runs anytime of the day/night whitch makes it hard for me to catch it.

It was usually just after 5pm. But when I filmed this it was around 7pm.

those gp39-2's are among my favorite csx engines, from time to time, a train runs on the route through maitland carrying the same cars back and forth from where i'm not sure but it's almost always one of these engines doing the work.
