John Mccain didn't choose Olympia Snowe because she wasn't as 'photogenic' as Sarah Palin. Olympia Snowe seems like a hard working, experienced stateswoman working for the common good. She just did not appeal to the fundamentalist ideological bigots with her sensible, quiet professionalism.

What the heck does gay marriage has to do with government.....The Republican party pride themselves of being the party of less government, but at the same time they want to restrict sexual tendencies and they want to shove Christian values down everybody's throat. I am a Christian, but I believe in the total separation of church and state, and so did our founding fathers.

The Republicans need more reasonable moderates like Sen. Snowe instead of the more radical neoconservatives and fundamentalists currently in charge of the party. Personally I don't care for Snow's politics, but she seems like an earnest person with whom I can disagree civilly.

He might have, but he might have alienated the Republican base. Kay Bailey Hutchinson is a moderate and is enormously unpopular in Texas. He was a moderate himself and he needed a more conservative person on the ticket. I am not sure if Senator Snowe is pro-life or pro-choice. I know Senator Collins is pro-choice. It is unfortunate that so many socially liberal people find it so hard to fit in to the Republican party, because most agree with the Republican philosophy of fiscal conservatism.

I see his strategy. He was vying for all the disenchanted Hillary supporters who wanted a woman in high power. Had he chosen a more moderate (and sensible) Republican woman, he might of had a better chance at winning.

McCain thought ENERGY woul be a huge factor in this election. At the time, it made sense to have a FEMALE/ GOVERNOR from an oil state.

Problem was, she's a fucking airhead and is so boondock/ fringe/backwoods redneck that the average American voter isn't attracted to her. No one cares what you hunt and eat when their fuckin pension falls through the floor.

Obama is surfing the waves of economic meltdown and the Republicans are the ones who caused it.

Olympia Snow could be just as liberal as Mike Bloomberg. The edges of America are liberal if you look at a electoral map. The interior is redneck.
