After the starter died on the trail, this guy shows how to pull start a Yamaha snowmobile using a cord wrapped around the clutch even though there is no pull start on these sleds.

  • Also learned that using a long thin strap, like those with ratchet tie downs, work really well and are longer, allowing to crank it even more.

  • great thanks for the video so just turn the key let it prime itfelf and pull on the primary?

  • @jdog1119

As far as I heard but I did hear that using a longer cord or rope will give more revolutions and a better chance at starting it. Another thing is that your chances are next to nil if it is stone cold.

  • You can do this on most sleds. but try pull starting the Apex or Nytro :P

  • @issatb0y

This may be true for 2 smokes, the 4 strokes do not have a pull start and usually need about 4 revolutions to start with the electric starter. And the fact they're fuel injected adds another layer of complexity. The sled in this video was a 2 cylinder. Are Apex and Nytro's 4's?

  • Phazer has cylinders while Apex has 4 and Nytro's have 3 :)

  • @issatb0y I guess you meant to say "Phazer has 2 cylinders". :-)

  • could have just been one of the relays for the starter? 20$ fix

  • @MrMooseman2

lol..that guys sure has no abilities eh..typical Doo guys..lol

  • @nkkaman44

Yep Yamaha the most dependable.A starter is not a big deal..BRP would be sitting there most times with blown pistons and driveshafts and even have caught fire..now which is more serious....that guy will learn to buy a Yamaha in the future afte his Doo explodes to pieces..hat e BRP..had 2 of them and were completely junk!!

  • @joepearsonful its manufacture preference. plus it would be extremely hard to pull over the apex or the nytro. thus e start is needed.

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha XD

  • wut a piece of shit yahmagut!

  • Here's my question why can't you have a pull on it to like Polaris thats what i got and i've never have a prob if my electirc start goes.
