Members of the Olympics Resistance Network held a press conference in Vancouver's downtown east side today to affirm their plans to protest the 2010 Games.
The Anti-Olympics convergence will begin with a peoples' summit, to take place Feb 10 and 11th.
On Friday, Feb. 12, the Welcoming Committee will carry off a massive protest against the Olympic Torch and the opening ceremonies of the Games. This action will begin at 3pm at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Why did the protesters pack it in so easily? I thought they were supposed to resist the Olympics, not stand down like a bunch of pussies.

That's funny. You'd think, that with your MASTERS DEGREE IN ENGLISH (ooooooooooh) , you'd be able to use other descriptive words than the crude ones you do.

I agree. Most of the people who put money toward things like ski resorts wouldn't be funding anything better anyways

Yeah i agree - the protestors have a solid argument but their image suffers becuase of the actions of their extremist supporters. The protest organizers should comdemn the vandalization that took place.

If you rely on government for food you will starve,if you rely on government for shelter you will be cold,if you rely on government you lose.

"ski resorts create poverty" -Harsha Walia
No they don't, they create JOBS and FUN. Two things these people seem to hate.

i agree with their cause but the tactics they used downtown yesterday just took away all their credibility. whats really happening now is that people from all around canada who are known to use any cause for an excuse to create trouble are having fun in vandolizing Vancouver's streets. this takes away lots of support and is hurting rather than helping the cause.

You are a threat to public now you hypocrite. If we didn't have that 1 billion dollar spent on security, we'll let you clowns riot around the city.
