  • Consumer Reports magazine wrote about this toy in the 60s:

"The Mattel Agent Zero M Sonic Blaster 5530 fires compressed air with a deafening blast. Our measurements top out at 157 dB–above a level that can do permanent damage to the hearing of an adult. We rate the toy Not Acceptable."

  • I've had tinnitus since 1967 because of my Mattel Sonic Blaster. It still works just fine after all these years but I don't hold it next to my head any more!

  • it needs to be pack a punched :)

  • I have heard157 decibels , and this toy was not that loud.

  • All you need is a potato.

  • I had one of these , it was theee bomb toy . Lots of fun

  • @1911HeadBanger Kids were doing this back then. That's why they took it off the market.

  • @StatenIsland121 You got it. He was Matt dillon on the radio show Gunsmoke.

  • I had one of these and it was awesome. It was absolutely lethal to ears. That's why they took it off the market so quick. Kids were pointing it right at their friend heads and a lot of ears and eyes got screwed up. It was a lot of fun thinking up different things to shoot outta this thing.

  • thats awesome

  • Fus Ro Dah, 50 years before Skyrim invented it. Impressive.
