Here's a Brady snare trio.
From left: Brady 14x6,5 Jarrah Ply (2003), center Brady 14x6,5 Wandoo Block (2011), right Brady 14x6,5 Spotted Gum (2010).
I tried to tune each snare exactly same and also the heads are same in each drum, Remo Coated CS on top and Remo Ambassador snare on bottom.
I noticed that the Wandoo Block was driest, Jarrah Ply warmest and Spotted Gum between those.
I recorded this demo for everybody interested about Brady snares, you'll get the picture of different wood types/sounds.
Recorded with Zoom Q3HD.

  • Great sounds man! How did you tune the bottom heads?

  • @diamondyeqy

I tried to tune the bottom heads to G-note which you can hear at beginning.

  • It's 14x6,5 Jarrah Ply on left. Actually I just got a new Brady 14x5,5 Jarrah Ply Wandoo Burl snare yesterday so it makes total 5 Brady snares :)

  • FAR RIGHT IS NICEE. WHAT WOOD

  • dead set thats like $3000 worth of snares there..

  • Great demo video of some great drums!

  • Hey man, nice videos. Can you answer me this, on the block snare, is the snare bed flat at the bottom? if so how deep is it? Thanks mate.

  • Awesome vid! I notice that you blew all your money on snares, so you couldn't afford new sticks. Ha ha. I have a 14x6.5 jarrah block and I prefer your spotted gum. The block drums are great for backbeat stuff but aren't versatile enough for me. Great drums though. I think all passionate drummers should play a Brady snare once. I couldn't afford mine, but I couldn't leave the shop without it! Worth getting into debt for.

  • @KaitsuDrums Thanks! :)

  • Great snares and great playing too.

I'm not sure which one I like best, they're all good!

  • Nice demo. Thanks.
