  • Cool didn't know about this version. Currently watching the Extended Version

  • @andy5421b Lemme know what you think of that version!

  • Now if only this could use the Blu ray release for as many scenes as possible.

Maybe this will finally be an edition of the movie thats comprehenable.

  • @Clesarie It would be nice if they would put the Extended version on Blu-Ray. We'd like to re-release Third Stage Edition as an HD version, but that's not possible until we can get HD sources for the extra footage. Let's hope!

  • i applaud this however i do like the princess irulan intro.

  • @Hal566 The Irulan intro is what is in The Third Stage Edition, no paintings!

  • @IamAlwaysRight

Replace spice by oil and you will see what it is actually all about.

  • Currently making a blog about the TSE version cutting it down scene-by-scene and comparing it with the Theatrical Version, the Alan smithee Version and of course the TSE version

  • @andy5421b very good version. You seamlessly integrated the deleted scenes and put back things that the TV Version("Smithee") left out

  • The Extended is good but I found out it was made for a TV Broadacst(the Smithee Version, which is why David Lynch disowned it). The TSE evrsion is very good.very ambient in the sound(using the theater version audio is very good) also you seamlessly integrated the deleted scenes.

  • I always though this ''spice'' thing was kinda funny. Reminds me of those years (Renaissance and before I guess) where merchants would conserve meat with spices as they traveled the seas.

  • David Lynch's "Dune" differs from the book. That's why many people criticize it but I don't agree. The whole movie was very well done, visual effects were great for that time and the acting was brilliant. Kyle MacLachlan and Francesca Annis were stunning

  • Just watched the third stage edition and this is definatly a vast improvement on the orignal theatrical release, I would highley reccomend this version as a more definitive version of what david lynch's final cut would have been. It expands the characters and plot much more whilst still retaining the theatrical cut with intertwined deleted scenes and footage from the TV Version explaining and showing things in much more detail, if you like the movie then you have to see this
