2008 IPF World Championship Wegiera Deadlift (3rd attempt)

Mr. Wegiera needed this one to beat Wade's total for the gold medal; Wade had just nailed his 267.5 kg deadlift... WHAT A SHOW

  • I would have cleaned and jerked the fucker and thrown it at the judge's face.

  • I agree with both sides, well sort of. He didn't lower the bar down properly according to stipulated IPF rules IMO, but he could of, he just got over excited and dropped it hastily.

Wegiera and Hooper are two phenomenal lifters!

  • I am a national referee in Ipf and the rules say that you must have your hands/hold the bar until it hits the ground, its a good lift.

  • he droped the bar down .... no lift!!! Wade hopper RULES!!!!

  • He slammed it. Pause the vid on the last frame with the bar above the ground and you can see his hands are still on the bar. I think you can get a warning for slamming it down, but you shouldn't fail. Either way, best to save the emotion until after you replace the bar - lol!

  • this is a load of crap. he totally should have got red lighted for droping the bar down. he knew it as soon as he did it too. shouldnt have got the lift, sorry.

  • WEGIERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
