Killing civilians for the sake of saving lives. No excuse. Truman was a fool to do it. Japan could have been ignored. They were already militarily inept. They could have exploded the bomb off-shore with the same impact on the minds of the Japanese. Using nuclear weapons is just bad, I do not care the reason.
