Properly sanding a gunstock is an important step in the finishing process. Watch along as Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO of MidwayUSA, shows how he sands his Nearly Perfect stock in preparation for finishing. He covers both the proper use of a backer and the raising of the grain between each sanding, giving the wood an even, smooth surface, ready for sealing. These techniques can be applied to any stock finishing project.

  • @psychodelicdragon If you sand the wood too far it won't exept the finish as well. You can sand the finish to a very fine grit to get the smooth feel you want.
