Info:
Unearth was always one of those bands that I never attempted to play due to difficulty, but I heard this solo and liked it so much that I had a shot. I'm quite happy with the result, despite off timing at the start and the first round of sweeps could of been a little cleaner. Also, my guitar has just received some overdue servicing, with the action raised to reduce fret buzz, new gauge strings and a new neck pickup. I wasn't able to figure out the harmony at the riff right before the switch over in solo's, so I decided to omit it.
Techniques/Tips:
- The first half of the solo is much harder than the second half
- The sweeps in the first half are the hardest part of the song, due to the speed and the shape. If your going to tackle this solo, practice this part the most
- The tapping part after the first sweeps is not a usual pattern. It follows the pattern of [TAP - RELEASE - TAP - RELEASE - RELEASE]
- If you are having guitar problems involving fret buzz, intonation or notes being flat higher up on the guitar, it might be a good idea to take your guitar to the local guitar shop and get them to give it a look at.

Tabs:
There is a brilliant tab on ultimate guitar where x7xFUKUx7x wrote the original tab but then syngates605 went a step further and really nailed the solo. Whilst all the notes are mainly right, some of the frets are slightly are off in both sweeping sections and the tapping section. Unfortunately he also did not do the harmonies.
Awesome!
