  • one of the BEST movies I EVER have seen... I HAD TO WATCH IT TWICE and pause at some points in order to get it though... (probably coz English is not my native)

FIRST time it was a complete chaos for me and I was really angry at Kelly

BTW: ONE THING THEY COULD HAVE DONE BETTER is the start of the movie where the explanation of the happenings goes TOO FAST (for me, at least)

  • I'm not entirely sure Bai Ling knows what the hell she's talking about regarding her character. I loved the movie to pieces, but her character was just random and kind of hormone driven. I never saw her as "infinite"

  • That's not... Marion Card? That's Beth Grant.

  • its safer that way

  • I see what the director was trying to do with it, but I think he was trying to hard. The story was convoluted, and the cast was so massive that you never really got to know anybody. A lot of the characters were pointless.

Still, a stylish and interesting flick, just lacking direction... and it also felt like one big complaint about post-9/11 America, and I'm the kind of person who wishes Hollywood would stop bitching about things they don't understand.

  • I think what Wallace Shawn said about the movie was dead on. It's exactly how I felt about the movie after I finished watching it. I felt like I had just woken up from a bad dream about the future of the United States and the end of the world.

  • why was it released only in 63 theathers?

  • This film was perfect as it hits you on so many levels. Many hate the film, not because they don't get it but personally, I think it's because the film is a hybrid and can't be categorised simply. That and some say it has a terrible script with no direction - are you kidding me?? That film is everything it needed to be, Richard Kelly certainly is ahead of his time and I would gladly sit down and watch Southland Tales again. One of the best movies: ever.

  • yeah this move was ace - supa cool post william gibson/wild palms cyberpunk+

  • this is the greatest movie ive seen in ages
