"As long as the surgery and the anesthesia proceed well, the child's well-being is ensured and there's no problem at the end of it." Doctor Dinner, Anesthesiologist of New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center, reviews some common concerns for parents regarding post-anesthesia problems for their child.

  • This doctor was named after a dinner though.

  • I think he does in a subtle way. I have reminded him also of the many people he has the opportunity to help through his story and that we would have loved to have found such a story the night before...thank you for your comments.

  • that video is soooo funny! lmao!

  • id like to know what your son thinks about this video being seen by millions of people. Does he grasp the concept that he's a little on the famous side?

  • I know personally , the person who video taped this. She was in trauma, because she'd never seen this behavior exhibited before in her son, and the father is trying to keep things mellow, but can be also viewed as telling the child that drugs are OK and always fun. I've experienced both side of the drug world. So many that we take for granted. When I came out of my surgery, my girlfriend told me later, that she didn't know this side of me...I don't remember.

  • My son just had a surgery or procedure done yesterday (7/24/08) and when he awoke he was very combative. The Anesthesiologist told me that this would be something that could happen, but it might not. I knew my child and I told her that Im sure it would, and he surely did.. But as soon as we LEFT the hospital, he calmed down.. But as long as we were in there, he was very upset...
