  • Nice to hear a version of this played at a playable tempo for the ensemble. Too often this is played at or above the original tempo played by Basie and ends up a mess because of the inexperience of the musicians. Kudos for playing the chart musically, for isn't that what it's all about anyway‽ I'm sure my friend Sammy would agree!

  • pretty good performance, just a little ensemble difficulties, but when is anything ever perfect in music, main thing I think is that there needs to be a bigger emphasis on the learning curve to improvisation, I feel think many colleges and universities get stuck in the process of the written part of jazz band and forget the importance of creativity in jazz
