On June 16 2011, UCD honoured five holders of the Ireland Chair of Poetry: John Montague, Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill, Paul Durcan, Michael Longley and Harry Clifton and also awarded the university's highest honour, the UCD Ulysses Medal, to Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney...

Pulitzer prize-winning American cartoonist and creator of Doonsbury, Garry Trudeau was also conferred with an honorary degree.

UCD is proud to celebrate Bloomsday, remembering the university's most famous alumnus, James Joyce.
