I am playing this role professionally for the second time in my life right now. I've been You-tubing the Mab speech for the last hour laughing my ass off over how bad they all were. This one is however, the best I've seen so far. He showed the mirth and the anger of this speech very well. Better than the rest I've seen in fact. The only critique i have is that at times he spoke so fast that he cut off the end of the words. But over all hats off to your son's Mercutio! Hope he sticks with acting.

Way to go Jon, you rocked

That was a very, very good portral of Mercutio! I loved it.

I think the actor played Mercutio as being gay. The actor wasn't, but I think Mercutio was misogynistic because he felt sexually attracted to Romeo.

Its so refreshing to see someone have such a good grip on this complex character. I'm a Theatre and Performance Undergraduate at college, playing the part professionally in England, and of all the material i have looked at on Youtube this is one of the best performances. Congratulations, its a great acheivement for such a young actor.

OMG, this Mercutio is amazing!! love it
Thank you very much for your comments. Jon was fifteen when he did this. He's been busy trying to get ready for college for the last few years, and spent the summer in Tajikistan learning Farsi. He's attending Wesleyan University (Connecticut) in the fall, and I hope he has a chance to get back into his acting there.

I need to re-edit this. It has a repeat. I'll get there someday! Mercutio is my son. I certainly think he's awesome.
