NOTE - I no longer have this bug. What did I do? Not play the game until I had a much better machine. If you've seen my other vids, you'll know that I've done so quite nicely.

PS - A possible fix is to set your card's quality setting to the lowest it'll go.

A problem I've had for a long time now. I mostly ignore it but its something I've been meaning to get fixed.

Note how at the end, I dived out of the chopper. I was really close to landing in the water completely. The game shows no reflections of non-static objects. So only fixed buildings and the sun will reflect.

Video isn't at speed, its actually sped up, giving an illusion of smoothness. My fps usually sticks around 20-23 fps, FRAPS was set to 30 fps while it recorded the game running at 15 fps. I had audio but it won't sink up properly due to the difference in fps.

CPU: 939 AMD Opteron 185 @ 2.86 Ghz (Dual Core)
RAM: g.Skill 2GB DDR500
GPU: eVGA 8800 GTX 768Mb @ 650 Mhz
Mobo: DFI LanParty nF4 UT Ultra-D
Audio: Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro
OS: Vista 32bit SP1

  • Well disabling PhysX did nothing for me. And even at a new resolution (now I'm running 1080p instead of 1280x1024) I still get the same performance.

    Shame really.

  • Nice guys. I'm going to try reinstalling the game and see if it works when I disable PhysX.

A side note, I tried the game on 2 installs of Vista (32bit is the one above, later on I tried 64bit) and 64bit Win7. All of them perform the same (shit fps) and have the same bug.

Here's to hoping this not only clears up the water bug but also my shit overall performance.

  • what a worthless comment

  • I have the same problem. Try changing resolution. It returns normal but slowly fades into this again.

  • i cant even see water :/

  • WHAT WERE THEY THIIINNNKING!!!??

  • I have this problem also. I was thinking it may be yet another ATI driver problem, but it seems not as you have an NVIDIA card. :(

  • I had the "jellow" effect as well but I thought it was normal lol

  • hey killzone I had this bug a while back...my problem was that in nvidia control panel there is a setting "high quality" yes it must be set on high quality not quality etc.

  • Not on my msi r4870X2

  • Same issue on ATI cards. It will change the water if you change water details from High to medium and viceversa but after few seconds the small waves are dissapearing and the mirror water will show again :(
