I'm gettting a camcorder with a mic input for just that reason. I can only really imagine going through the hassle of dubbing if I've shot a dialogue scene with a long lens and didn't want my mic in the shot..OR if the scene was shot in noisy or windy conditions that spoiled the original audio.

This seems kind of ridiculous. Why not just use a decent mic mounted on the camcorder itself? Any decent camcorder lets you connect an external mic. Perhaps I'm missing something.
