I made this video tutorial because there didn't seem to be any videos on YouTube showing how to actually disassemble a pedal. I think this is an important skill to have, because in many cases problems with pedals can be easily fixed without buying new pedals.

Please leave me comments!

This is my fourth bicycle repair video on youtube. If you like what you see, please check out my other videos and SUBSCRIBE.

Thanks for watching!

  • Is the locknut on the other left pedal also opposite thread?

  • @RVDBNL The threads for the cone and locknut are right threaded (normal thread) for both left and right pedals.

  • great videos mate!

  • Excellent video, thanks dude!

  • Its easier to put the bearings in on both ends before putting the rod through it by putting an extra layer of grease (not too much) on top of the bearings. that usually keeps them in place.

  • I just rebuilt a pair of pedals today and the only hitch was the locknut. I see from this video that properly tightening the locknut on the cone nut would have been easier with a washer in between the two. I broke a slotted screwdriver trying to create dynamic tension between the two.

  • @cjhoylemusic Sorry. Hope I didn't offend you (I meant it as a compliment). The video was EXTREMELY helpful.

  • @zkomins lol it's a Canadian accent.

  • Excellent video. Helped me out. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Plus a smooth MidWestern accent is very helpful as well.

  • Nice vid man. Thanks
