On Sunday, February 21st 2010, two heritage passenger trains met at Stanthorpe for the first time in many years.
They consisted of the Downs Dasher led by Steam Locomotive C17 971, operated by the Southern Downs Steam Railway, based in Warwick and The Winelander, led by English Electric Locomotive 1620 run twice yearly by the Australian Railway Historical Society.
