though slit-scan has been around for a long long time... the technique I used was developed by myself & Ian Foster in After Effects.

  • @xalener haha okay

  • gggaaaaaaaAAAAAHH HTOO MUCH HIPSTER

  • @EdEditz i'll check out the tutorial, but i think im done with the effect for now vimeo dot com/19814907 used it for this

  • @jaysjob I think the audio is so bad because they left the audio on for all of the 720 layers they used. Thus the audio is also 'slit scanned' so to speak. :)

  • I must say you methode gets the best resolution but it's easier to do it with a gradient and the time-displacement effect. See my tutorial here: //aftereffectstutorials . blog . com/2011/07/15/slit-scan-effect/

  • Cool video.

    Mind numbingly bad audio.

  • what's with the sound???

  • @RealityBend sorry, no time for that right now. I can tell you that each horizontal row of pixels is delayed a frame from the one above it. I achieved the effect using 720 masks/clips in AE. Requires serious processing/time. There are probably better ways to do it.

  • How did you acheive this effect? No chance for a tutorial?
