  • It is not true that Swedish law about prostitution got away the trafficking about slave prostitution, because this one is made into secret places where customers pay so much to stay there. Prohibition is the water of Mafia fish, it is better to avoid it where it is possible as prostitution among adult and consentient people. For my research, prostitution must be legal for the European Convention on Human Rights.

  • I repeat - Pye Jacobsson IS a feminist,,she admited it by herself in many interwiev to swedish massmedia

  • @Tuckercrew ,,yes, even in Germany legalistion of prostitution led to increasing of trafficking..

Swedish model NOT hurts sex-workers,,its just gives them higher wages and less competition..

Once again . - prostitution is NOT banned in sweden, but only clients are criminalised, what did not prevent them to continue paying for sex :-))

  • @annaktivist legalisation in Holland also led to more sex trafficking, not less as was an aim of making it legal. It gave pimps and traffickers more power actually. The deputy mayor of Amsterdam is talking about the swedish model if new laws, that Dutch senate still has to pass, fails (again). Anyway, the subject keeps me busy, b/c sex trafficking is the worst crime there is, and many men dont even care if they fuck a forced woman, this entire pros stuff is really sickening.

  • @annaktivist

for someone that loves to throw around words like "strawman"

you should know that you've just created one right here with this comment.

being that you try to be so damn smart. i bet you can figure out which one that is?

if you need help, give me a shout. i would be glad to give you a hint.

  • having to work within redlight districts and in licensed brothels. which makes it expensive for some to start up their own center. 4) no competition for lisences

it may mean lower wages for women at the top of the income earning spectrum. but for the low earning workers benifit from this and do to clients by leveling out supply and demand.

  • want to be on the streets off the streets 2) if keeps otherwise law abiding citizens out of jail 3) it allows women who want to contract a safe environment to do so legally (in countries like canada, its legal to be a prostitute the laws surrounding prostitution make it illegal for workers to take basic steps to protect themselves) 3) women are less likely to be exploited by pimps and brothel owners because they can easily set up shop from home and dont have to

  • most people dont change their minds easily about major issues and our opinions are heavily based on what our parents believe and what is considered socially acceptable ( up to 96% by some estimates). it will take generations to change public opinion is a drastic way.

so whe you talk about there STILL being sigma, as if to imply that you expected some massive shift to make decrim valid in your eyes, is unrealistic.

decrim does solve a lot of problems. 1) is gets women who dont

  • that no longer make it a crime to be gay and gurantees equal rights to gays.

i'm trying to picture someone coming in here and saying blacks may have won their civil rights struggles but racism STILL exists. yeah its gonna still exist. its a working progress that too several generations to built to this point and will take at least as much time to deconstruct.

  • @annaktivist

what the hell do you expect? that over night people will just get over their prejudices? and what would you call a success? a reduction relative conditions before legalization? how about relative to other countries?

legalization/decriminalization are fairly new concepts to first world nations a decade or so is not going to be enough to see major changes.

im just trying to imagin someone coming in here and saying that homosexuals are STILL sigmatized in countries
