The nation has become the world's biggest provider of corneas, possibly because of its religious traditions.

@TwoTube2 I wouldn't read too much into it. SL historically had the best health and education systems in South Asia, actually of a first world standard. Until the war anyway. Hopefully it's starting to improve again now the conflict's over.

Considering they're talking about Corneas, and thinking back to my hazy highschool biology classes, I believe Corneas don't have the chemical markers that induce an immune response, so they're a pretty safe transplant.
