High-tech battleships and missiles are on stand-by to protect London during the upcoming Olympics. Some are concerned it looks more like war games than a sporting event. But as RT's Laura Smith explains, heavy weaponry may not be enough to tackle the real threat.

They targeted the twin towers because it was a icon of capitalism, the plane that partly destroyed the pentagon was not meant to attack an icon of the military, not the military itself. The fourth plane, that was destroyed, was meant to destroy the white house because it is an political icon, it was not meant to destroy the democracy. Although I agree with you that they have incredibly weakened the USA, the only big winner here is China since Al Qaeda lost a lot of ground in the middle east

9-11 attack in the twin tower was economic target and to draw the enemy into bigger and costly conflict. The US and here allies spent more money to fight alqaeda than social welfare.Alqaeda is like ancient horse archers. The horse archers when they attack they kill you when they retreat they kill you. Alqaeda when they attack they are harm full to the economy and when they are hunted down alot of money is needed also harmful to the economy.

That was a side effect, their main purpose was to throw over the usa. To scare them, but not to cripple their economy

Alqaeda is winning the war because the goals of alqeada is not to kill only but to destroy enemy's financial capabilities. Invasting too much on security will delay many projects and today we can see Europe and USA had economic crisis since last decade after 911 attacks they spent too much on war and security. For the coming decades the western power will fall apart.

Good thing they g4s didn't do it. British soldiers did it in the end and I think they can use x ray machines just fine.

Well, looks like things are heating up in the world. This looks like the last of the freedom until people stop paying taxes and stop supporting these corporate money hungry tyrants
