What If

State and local parks across the nation are facing a crisis of unprecedented proportions, as the sagging economy continues to affect America. Across the nation, many agencies are facing significant cutbacks in operating funds, and/or partial or complete closures of their parks and facilities. Now, more than ever, we must communicate to America the vital role that parks and recreation play for communities, for economic development, social vitality, health, physical fitness, youth development, and so much more.

In recent surveys, members have suggested PSAs as a way to help communicate our importance to the nation. To respond to this demand, and to fight for our parks, NRPA is pleased to announce the launch of our first PSA Contest, Save Our Parks! By harnessing the power of YouTube and the collective energy of the parks and recreation community, we hope we can send a message that will spread quickly, and be heard throughout the country.
