I appreciate your slow tempo as a relative beginner. Thank you so much. Your videos are fantastic. I've selected a solid fabric, for my kitchen chairs, duck I believe. For solids, is it as necessary to cut on the bias? It seems like I should probably still cut for piping on the bias?

Sorry but you talk to slow for me to understand what you were saying

Hi, i'm from Malta and have just started a Tailoring course. I am noticing in your clip that your working top is covered with a measuring mat. Can you explain what it is called and if i can purchase one online? Thanks for your lessons

Thank you! It can be so expensive to buy premade piping in large quantities, this is a great alternative and also can be done in perfectly matching fabric!!

Piping (or welt) strips can be cut on the bias or on the cross grain regardless of the pattern. I prefer making my strip on the bias because the resulting piping has more flexibility. Either way is fine; you may even prefer cutting on the cross grain when you're short on fabric. Please let me know your project is progressing; I wish you every success!

My sewing table is covered with a cutting mat, measuring 36x59. I purchased it from JoAnn Fabrics. It's available on their website.
