The question is not WHEN does it stop but DOES IT ever stop at all. Koikichis' quest to give better water to our valued pets. Today, I changed out from 80kg of bacteria house in my bakki shower to bio-balls and more J-mats. Also added one Novus (Korean-made) water pump with 23ton/hr output to my existing 2 Tsurumi 15ton/hr pumps, so total water passing through my bakki shower is 53tons/hr. This makes my bakki shower turnaround time about 90 mins for my 80 ton pond.

I also added another Novus 23ton/hr water pump to my filter chambers (separate circuit from my bakki shower) to add to my existing 3 Tsurumi 20ton/hr pumps, so 83tons of water pass through my chamber filters per hour. Turnaround rate is now slightly under once an hour. Total water passing through both filtration circuits is therefore 136 tons per hour.

Need this to create stronger currents and more "push" towards the 3 operating bottom drains.

  • Many thanks.

It's a high quality and very useful video.

    I learned a lot!

  • Thank you too. You can see my latest (hopefully last) pond renovation in V34 and V36.

  • I would always recommend using an external pump over an internal pump. they are usually more energy efficient, last longer, and are easier to maintain

  • I have nasty neighbours who complain about anything they can think of. If I used external pumps, they would definitely be complaining to the authorities about the noise level.

  • @hooinc I hate neighbors like that. Can't handle a TINY bit of noise.

  • @hooinc I think i know why they complain, in your videos everything is so loud. I mean Bakki, Chillers, like 5 pumps... DUH its loud sounds like a factory...

  • @hooinc if u give ur nasty neighbors some nasty fish, im pretty sure they will shut their nasty mouths.

  • @chengaun A bakki will always be good at least for aeration and degassing. But I will always prefer a combo of filter chambers with bakki.

  • you should consider the Cascade or Artesian series pumps by Performance Pro. they run at a lower rpm (1725) and are very quiet. I've used these on several of my systems for years ( currently running three 1/4 hp and one 1/8 hp cascade pumps)
