This is how you can wifi tether with out having to pay verizon that extra fee every month. This will how ever use data from your 5gb instead of the 2gb verizon gives you when you pay to wifi tether.

This is the link that will tell you how to root your phone. It will work on the Droid X even though it says it's for the Droid 2.

  • could u make a video how to get kernels

  • @jaydeep123453 This will come one day. I've been meaning to do it, but havn't had time.

  • My intenet plan is 25MB a month. with this I can tether all I want and not pay anything???

  • @Nearman No, once you use 25mb on your plan you will be paying a lot more. 25mb doesn't last long.

  • @mechrocktech is there A way I can still get this app? It would let me download it on my tablet, but not my Droid 2 :/ and this is like my last hope at tethering my droid 2 with my Toshiba thrive

  • @piano0011 the point is to use the data you might already be paying for with your phone, and use it on other devices like computers. This means that wherever you have your phone, you have wifi! That is the general appeal

  • hey guys! Could someone tell me whether this will use my 250 MB plan per month? If so, then what is the point of tethering if you are going to use the data?

  • @mechrocktech hello! I am new to this, so what is the point of tethering when it uses your plan? I thought this will not use any data because it is wifi..
