Still remember where I was. I was in my Kitchen with my brother laughing about something else, and my Dad came out from his office saying that Harry Kalas had died. I immediately just sulked for the rest of the day. since 4/13/09, no game has been the same, and with that statue tonight, every generation can remember him forever.

I remember his voice and that made me cry when he died

This really was a shock and so sad for Philadelphia..even if you didn't like sports! Always said "the voice, comforting to hear, 'summer soundtrack', etc.." and that is exactly what it was for me when I listened to the games on the radio when I was a kid and even more when the games aired on Comcast Philly, PHL17.
I just remember turning on the TV for the Nats game and the 1st thing I saw was larry Anderson crying (Didn't know why) until I realized from a graphic that Harry died...I was numb

Even tho I'm 20 years old ever since I was 3 I loved hearin' his voice ever since we won nl east in '93. Still can't believe he's gone. R.I.P. H.K

he is one of the best
Not only was Harry loved in Philadelphia, he was Philadelphia. Harry was our modern day William Penn and Ben Franklin. Harry was a figure who was universally loved in Philly and a part of Philadelphia is gone now because of Harry's passing.

So great that he got to see the Phillies take it before he passed.
