  • I watched this movie with my two alcoholic patents(both members of AA) it was a great movie, loved it. Even being 13 I had a connection to it, I could relate with some of the quotes and the story from the big book. This part really makes one think.

  • @Pjtheanimal2 ...you think you have a disease???...try cancer....you choose to put that glass/bottle to your mouth. disease my ass!..grow the fuck up.

  • Alcoholism is a chronic, life-long disease, such as diabetes. However, if managed properly, damage to the brain can be stopped and to some extent reversed.[3] In addition to problem drinking, the disease is characterized by symptoms including an impaired control over alcohol, compulsive thoughts about alcohol, and distorted thinking.[4] Alcoholism can also lead indirectly, through excess consumption, to physical dependence on alcohol, and diseases such as cirrhosis of the liver.

  • The American Medical Association (AMA) had declared that alcoholism was an illness in 1956. In 1991, The AMA further endorsed the dual classification of alcoholism by the International Classification of Diseases under both psychiatric and medical sections.

  • @MIKE1238673 Your a moron!

  • @krichards816 then you just lost your right nut.

  • @MIKE1238673 I am willing to bet my right nut you do not have a problem with drinking.

  • @Pjtheanimal2 Alcoholism is not recognise as a disease by the DSM IV. It is not a disease, it is a behavioural problem. There is a difference. If a person with a potential prediliction for alcohol never touches alcohol in the first place, they never become an alcoholic, hence they do not have a disease. 'Alcoholism' is NOT something people are born with. Many so-called 'alcoholics' (usually self-labelled, by the way) love the word 'disease' to relinquish personal accountability.

  • @jandlblank Part of loving God and loving people is actively forgiving yourself, forgiving others, and receiving God's love and mercy (vs. pushing Him and others away) on a daily basis.

  • I agree we all act out of fear and make insane ridiculous choices. It is also clear we act out of being insanely selfish beings. Which is why we must let go to allow God to have control of our life. Do things His way no matter how we feel at any moment. Because sometimes we will feel up and sometimes we will feel down, our emotions yo-yo. Live by faith and obedience doing things God's way no matter what. This life is temporary, the next is eternal. Love God, love people.
