  • anyone know of a good place to buy quartersawn lumber to make bracing from?

  • @sirgreggins8824 lmii dot com

  • Hey there, have you ever gotten around making a voicing video?

    Thanks for all the information!

  • @t0umart0u I have not but kent Everett has a voicing dvd and it is very good. It is available at apprentice publishing

  • I'm curious about one thing that I've been trying to research (but for which I've found few results in my search) - how is the top radiused? Is the radius created by gluing the braces with the radius on them to the board, or some other way?

  • @themurkar The braces are radiused in the dish, they are then glued to the soundboard or back in the dish as well.

  • @OBrienGuitars Thanks for the info. i ordered John Mayes Voicing dvd, heard a lot of good about it!

  • @OBrienGuitars Ok - thanks very much for the reply! It is much appreciated.

  • Thank you for sharing this.. really helped me through bracing my first steel string top! I like the theory behind the X-shape bracings... Im gonna apply that, and a mix of Cumpiano's layout as well.

  • Robert, thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with all of us. You're a really fantastic instructor and the amazing detail you present in these videos have filled in so many of the gaps missing in the few luthier books available.
