there's this thing called WINDOWS UPDATE?! you should check it out... it's just unbelievable.
i don't use vista. i can't say anything good about it, but i'd take that over linux anytime. Windows 7 RTM is out. it's better than Windows XP. try it out if you want a working OS.

Wrong. That's a CPU. Kernal is the CORE OF THE OS, not HARDWARE.

i dont know why so many people have problems with vista. vista has been the best windows os ive ever used maybe my pc is just likes buggy programing ive had the opposite experience with windows, xp was horrible and vista was great go figure lol

try LuvCView. Go to terminal and type:
sudo apt-get install luvcview
worked for me!
