@MagnusCattus Atheism is an extension of science. If you are science minded, you eventually must become an atheist. The more scientific one becomes, the more educated one becomes, the more likely they will abandon all faith.

Religion vs science... Lets call it what it damn well is, atheism vs theism. Grow up science is not an extention of atheism, and anyone who says that is just full of it.

@mrbrianmccarthy For example, the difficulties Charles Darwin had presenting his theories to the academy of science. But as a counterpoint to that, sometimes it can be good to have an authority to negatively judge radical idealogical theories to give them perspective. Religion can also promote good moral values, so I wouldn't say it is a cancer but more of a tool that is used to control the masses under unified ideals. That tool is now out dated and replaced by modern science.
