Grand Luxe Express Through East Central Alabama

Here's the Grandluxe Express (Formally American Orient Express) making its way through east central Alabama. This is the "Southern Antebellum" leg of the trip. Today the train ran from Savannah, Ga to Meridian, Ms.

I and a couple of other rail fans caught the train in Columbus, Ga as the train crossed over the Chattahoochee River into Alabama. I followed it to Alex City, Al. This was one tough cookie to keep up with. I was planning on getting quite a few more shots but I'm glad I got the ones I did. I had a blast following this train!

I can't believe that GrandLuxe Rail Journies is shutting down at the end of this year!!!!!!!!! That means no more GrandLuxe Express!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed though acturally they're no more. it's not the end of the year, it's already over. They killed it quickly. It was a fun train to chase & I'll miss it.

Forgot to ask: is the GrandLux scheduled to run again anytime soon? Sorry to be clueless, but I appreciate all the postings. Give your videos a "5" from me - great locations. I do pictures, and I plan to hit some of those locations soon!

Sadly the Grand Luxe's trips are finished for this year. They should be back again next year around the same time as this. This was one of two trips the train took through these parts this year. I believe they'll be making four trips next year.

Thanks to you fellas. I had a blast Cary. "The big one" is any day now so I don't know how much fanning I'll get in but keep those updates from the north coming. If I don't go to the train I can at least "catch" it on the scanner.

I live only 30 miles or so from Alex City, Goodwater, etc. (Lineville) but didn't know about the AOE. Makes me sick to have missed it, but I love the vidoes of this and other sites you have shown. Trainman46
