It wasn't that cheap. A bottle of coke was ten cents, a fountain pen was ten bucks, a watch was 50 dollars, a movie-ticket was a quarter...you probably earned about 50 bucks a week...

@DemyxCD No, Donald and Goofy were still pretty popular even before Kingdom Hearts (especially in the animation community). Not to say Kingdom Hearts didn't give them a little bit of a boost, but Kingdom Hearts wasn't the revival of Disney everybody makes it out to be :<

@DemyxCD i really respect your opinion, but I believe it's wrong. I belong to the billions of people out there that are not in the age to play video games any more and still ADORE Disney, read Disney comics all the time and know all the movies by heart. Disney charactes are still alive because are ones of the best cartoon heroes ever created. If they weren't popular characters, Kindom Hearts wouldn' be as successful and famous, believe me. You must play Kingdom Hearts to get the joke...
The only reason i think that Donald Goofy and Mickey are still alive and popular today is thanks to that game.
