@tazzanimal no man, there are still some very good and soulfull guitarists out there, you probably are listening to the wrong bands, check out, the black box revelation very good recent band. and you should listen to some jazz, that's where the good guitarists are at

@crazygeek777 couldn't agree more.. slash is highly overrated.. tom morello has his own unique style of playing which is still underappreciated and john fruscainte is probably one of the most soulful guitar players alive...well when he's doing solo work anyway he's by for the most talented of the RHCP which I cant stand..

@tazzanimal slash is the only one that can play with soul? seriouly? tom morello, john frusciante, jack white, can't play soulfully? and why pick slash? seriously? he's the biggest sellout of generation x...

@zapspace Yes.
-
@Qrayon New Order "How do you feel to treat me like you do ..." ... Also, a classic, though ...
-
@Qrayon Yes, of course ...
-
@zapspace ...or Blue Monday sounds like the chorus to Highway Chile, since Jimi came first.

Saw Hendrix June 1970 in Albuquerque, NM. Felix Pappallardi on bass instead of Noel Redding and it was only for the better. They rocked that damned Civic Center and set if for demolition. Balling Jack opened and oh sweet Ned. Jimi played over an hour. Stopped. Broke 10 minutes to change to dry clothes and do whatever and then another hour and 15 minutes. 2 hits of killer chocolate mescaline and a five finger bag of Juarez' finest bud did nothing to erase the memories. Trust me.

@tazzanimal I'm sorry but have you seen billy gibbons or jack white or john frusciante or many other "soul playing" guitarists. Slash can do like three blues licks and that is it!
The beginning is nWo!

Jimi could play hard with soul and good riffs.The bands today have no soul today.Slash is the only one that can play with soul today.
