@TheTubeEmperor -- They're looking for water on the moon because they are thinking of sending astronauts back there to stay longer.

And if they do that and there is no water already there, they need to spend millions of dollars per pound to send water from Earth. It is tremendously expensive to lift anything from Earth all the way to the moon.

@TheTubeEmperor For moon bases. If we can mine ice from the rock, put it in filters in a space station orbiting the moon/earth and bases on the earth. And we can get some coke, soda, beer, wine, plants, food, coffee, and much more.
