@99STM yes but you can also have a built motor and have stock mods on the motor, uncommon but still a possibility. I now have a built motor but all my bolt ons could also be ran on a stock motor and the motor would be perfectly fine. As long as you do everything right, and have a great tune, and take care of the car etc. it should be fine. people running gt45rs on the other hand would have more issues than say a built motor with a 20g blah blah

@fatcircles Sorry for a late response. I agree and disagree. Having a built motor means it will take more abuse than the stock motor, which is obvious. But the heavier you mod your car, the more problems you will run into. When you are making enough power that you need a built motor, shit will break.

nice "JDM" tail lights. I have the same config in my STi.

the reason i asked is becuz i asked someone else with a fully built sti and he says his car always breaks.i figured if its fully built it can take a lil more of a beating

hows the car as a daily driver?

it does sound good. iam in the process of a 46mm wastgate 3" down pipe back exhaust bushed by a t70. i should have mine ready by thanksgiving :^)
Wow. Ask stupid questions and you'll get stupid answers.
Blow off valve is to release extra pressure created by turbo to prevent compressor surge (turbo spinning other way).
External wastegate is a valve before the turbo which opens up so excess pressure can escape. Once pressure escapes, the pressure the turbo creates is even. It can be used as a form of boost control.
Yes you can have them both.

He doesn't know what he is talking about then. Plus having an external wastegate doesn't affect the car at all as a daily driver, all it does it bleed off boost so you can hold it steadier. The only difference is you are using a wastegate pre-turbo instead of the one thats already inside of the turbo. You don't need a "built" motor to run an EWG.
