Russian power progressive metal act Eclipse Hunter presents its second album, Unlimited Edition, released on 11.11.11 by Metalism Records. This time, the band delivered us a fully conceptual album, with a wide mix of different rock and metal styles, varying from hard rock songs like "Heartbreaker" (also available as free digital single), powerful melodic ballads like "Someday" and "Changes" to epic progressive stuff like "Denied" and some power metal pieces, for those who liked their debut album, One. The band's main songwriter and founder Andre Osokin describes the concept as "a sarcastic view on show business, dealing with common issues like fighting with one's pride and arrogance, being true to one's self, keeping the feelings between two people and letting them go." Eclipse Hunter continued to work at Black Obelisk Studio with sound engineer Dmitry Borisenkov and managed to create a richer sound, developed a different approach to arrangements by adding lots of ambience and effects, thus, taking their listener into a particular atmosphere. Just like last time, the band worked with session drummers Max Oleynik and Vladimir Ermakoff (both from Black Obelisk). Female singer Alexandra Popova (recently quit Eclipse Hunter, now sings backing vocals in Royal Hunt) contributed lead vocals for 2 tracks this time, in addition to delivering outstanding backing vocals along with Ivan Guskov (from Hunters band). Eclipse Hunter also managed to recruit Royal Hunt's leader, André Andersen for a keyboard solo on the 10-minute epic, "Denied", which perfectly filled an empty slot in the song. So get your ears ready for this 52-minute journey, and, if you don't get it at a first try, give it another run -- you won't regret it!
