@Geisttanzer essentially. Lowest common denominator is a great way to hit a bigger audience. What we really need are more crap fps clones ;)

this was a great game but it always crashed, very buggy. Is there a remake that works on latest computers ?

Kind of a boring game. Big universe with nothing to do, tedious missions. Even the enemy taunts didn't have nearly as much character. Not nearly as fun as the original..

why is this guys comment thumbs downed?!?! This game IS terrible compared to the original. Not to mention that its practiclly unplayable on most modern systems!

I love how the explosions in this game didn't scale....the fireball was always the same size regardless of the range/size of the ship that was destroyed. The game also didn't let you do close fly-bys of cap ships, get remotely close and you bounced off an invisible barrier...shameful.
