Climbing the tallest mountain in the world (in a 4X4 of course), Mauna Kea, in Hawaii. And yes, it is the tallest - who can be the first to tell me why?

  • ohh yeah it is but i remember the tour guide saying something about the water cuts it off so its not really considered the tallest mountain, but its higher than mount everest

  • Exactly my point. We drove to the top in an hour - not quite the Mt Everest journey

  • from the summit to the true base (underneath the sea bed) it is dounble the height of mount everest. It was on tv the other day

  • Its 30+ thousand feet from sub base level. Mount Everest is only 29 thousand feet from its base, also when your measuring mountains you measure from top of the mount to where the mountain reaches the basen of tectonic plate.

  • i can tell why mauna kea is the tallest mountain and not mount everest.. mauna kea is deep down the water.. and mount everest is in the land.. am i correct? lmao!

  • so its the tallest mountain from its actual base to the top? I remember my grandpa asking me what the tallest mountain was, and of course I said Mt. Everest, but then hes like no thats the tallest mountain above sea level

  • hmmm, that's crazy.

  • cuz it goes down to the ocean floor. das why.

  • Because you have never heard of mount everest.

  • tell me why?
